About the Role

Senior AI-focused data scientist role bridging foundation model teams with internal/external customers to customize foundation models and build generative AI applications. Responsibilities include implementing ML solutions, evangelizing AWS GenAI services, and driving architectural discussions for Amazon Nova FM's. Requires deep technical experience with large language models and foundation model evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning solutions under GenAI, building prototypes and PoCs
• Evangelize AWS GenAI services and share best practices through blogs, whitepapers, and public speaking events
• Ensure success in designing, building and migrating applications with Amazon Nova FM's and AWS GenAI capabilities
• Interact directly with customers to understand business problems and implement durable GenAI systems
• Drive evaluation strategy, metric design, and evaluation data design for real-world use cases

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Master's degree in quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, data science, engineering, computer science)
• 5+ years experience in end-to-end technical architecture, design, deployment and operations for Generative AI/ML platforms
• 3+ years experience working with technologies related to large language models including LLM architectures and model evaluation
• Experience in design/implementation/consulting for Machine Learning/AI/Deep Learning solutions

Nice to Have:

• Experience with optimizing ML workloads using model compression, distillation, pruning, quantization, and Transformers algorithms
• Experience with open source frameworks for building applications powered by language models like LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Experience with AWS technologies like SageMaker, Step Functions, OpenSearch, S3, IAM, EC2, Glue, & EMR
