About the Role

Lead research and development of Agentic AI optimization techniques at AWS, focusing on foundational models and agent learning methods. Influence product roadmap and leverage large-scale computing resources to advance foundation models for AWS customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term science roadmap for Agent optimization/learning research
• Implement and validate research ideas before moving them to production
• Collaborate across product and engineering teams to transfer science innovations into customer-facing products
• Lead research in areas like RL reward shaping, training efficiency optimization, and automatic prompt optimization
• Take products from zero to one by influencing product and science roadmap

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• Experience as a research lead coordinating efforts across teams
• Experience collaborating across product and engineering teams to transfer science innovations into customer facing products
