About the Role

The Sr. Applied Scientist will lead the development of a state-of-the-art Agentic service platform using advanced Gen AI/ML technologies to revolutionize advertising experiences on Amazon. They will design and build agents for advertiser guidance, implement model optimization techniques, and collaborate across teams to bring innovations into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop a state-of-the-art Agentic service platform using advanced Gen AI/ML technologies
• Lead business and science strategy and roadmap for the team
• Design and build agents to guide advertisers in conversational and non-conversational experiences
• Design and implement advanced model and agent optimization techniques, including supervised fine-tuning and preference optimization
• Build evaluation pipelines for agent workflows, including automated benchmarks and safety guardrails

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
