About the Role

Senior Data Scientist role focused on safety and analytics at Twitch. You'll drive strategy for smarter, automated safety operations using data and technology. Responsibilities include data governance, self-service tools, and transparency reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems with analytical approaches grounded in statistics and domain expertise
• Lead efforts to improve data governance and data quality for safety-critical decision-making
• Design and implement self-service data tools, pipelines, and frameworks for cross-functional teams
• Respond to urgent safety incidents with analytical clarity and decision support in time-sensitive situations
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to design durable systems for proactive safety

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• BA/BS in Operations Research, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of experience as a data scientist or data analyst in a high velocity, data-driven environment
• 5+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques experience
• Expert SQL skills and proficiency in Python/R
• Experience using data to create insight, drive business decisions and influence leadership

Nice to Have:

• MS/MA or higher in Operations Research, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Experience in a data science team working on Trust & Safety, analytics, and insights
• Experience working with operations data and developing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency
• Experience working with software development and operational event data
• Familiarity with Twitch, either as a viewer or creator
