About the Role

Senior Data Scientist role at Microsoft focusing on AI transformation. Responsibilities include applying advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, and GenAI to solve complex business challenges. Onsite work required 3 days a week in Redmond, WA.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to formulate business needs into manageable problems
• Transform problems into implementation plans with success metrics
• Write robust, reusable code for analysis and modeling
• Develop new ML or GenAI models using advanced techniques
• Lead evaluation of GenAI solutions and diagnose issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years related experience OR Master's Degree AND 4+ years OR Doctorate AND 3+ years
• 3+ years experience using Python and SQL
• 1+ years experience finetuning and evaluating LLMs
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check

Nice to Have:

• Ability to translate complex business insights into actionable recommendations
• Familiarity with building and analyzing core business metrics
• Understanding of database systems for independent data acquisition, transformation, and storage
• Expertise in designing and implementing Generative AI pipelines (e.g., RAG systems, domain/task-specific finetuning)
