About the Role

AWS is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for designing and implementing resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution systems for data centers. The role involves driving standardization, innovation, and technical evaluation of designs across the global footprint, with up to 30% international travel. Responsibilities include leading projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing mentorship within the data center engineering community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design resilient and cost-effective electrical distribution systems for data centers
• Drive standardization of electrical designs across global regions
• Lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design and innovation
• Review and approve critical equipment submittals including vendor witness tests
• Provide technical support and mentorship to the data center engineering community

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years experience in industrial or commercial electrical design
• 5+ years specific mission critical experience
• Working knowledge of BIM and Revit

Nice to Have:

• Cumulative 7+ years experience with industrial or commercial electrical design
• 3+ years experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design
• Excellent understanding of applicable regional electrical codes (NEC, CEC, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of critical data center electrical equipment and controls
• Experience managing supplier relationships in construction projects
