About the Role

Lead strategic Responsible AI efforts for AGI, focusing on AI Safety, Privacy, and Bias/Fairness. Translate business requirements into deliverables and represent Amazon in external regulatory engagements. Provide thought leadership and work with cross-functional teams to implement RAI solutions for large-scale generative models.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic Responsible AI efforts covering AI Safety, Privacy, and Bias/Fairness
• Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables with science and engineering teams
• Liaise with internal partners and represent Amazon in external engagements with regulatory bodies
• Work with academic partners to access cutting-edge research and mentor in-house talent
• Deliver short- and long-term RAI solutions in production for large-scale models

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field
• Experience building complex real-time AI/ML/NLP systems delivered to customers
• Track record of delivering large cross-functional projects from requirements to launch
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis

Nice to Have:

• 15+ years of relevant broad research experience after PhD or equivalent
• Deep expertise in Machine Learning applied to large-scale generative models with RAI focus
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Strong prior experience mentoring or managing senior scientists and engineers

• Base pay ranging from $240,100 to $350,000/year depending on geographic market
