About the Role

Staff Infrastructure Engineer role at Salient, an AI workflow automation tool for lenders. Responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable production-grade infrastructure for enterprise clients, including migration to Kubernetes and establishing infrastructure best practices. This is an onsite role in San Francisco requiring close collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for real-time AI-driven voice services
• Support migration to Kubernetes from ECS and establish infrastructure best practices
• Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and safe deployments
• Own monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to ensure uptime and performance
• Automate operational workflows and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience with project leadership
• Deep expertise in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes) in production
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm, etc.)
• Strong software engineering skills in languages like Python, Go, and Bash

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with real-time communication systems (SIP, LiveKit etc.)
• Background in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare)
• Experience with Python + LLM stack + transformer based voice models
