About the Role

This role is a Support Engineer for AWS Data Center Central Operations, focusing on migrating server racks and recovering capacity. The engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert, working with various teams to identify and mitigate defects in hardware migration processes. They will support both ML and non-ML server hardware to ensure safe, secure, and highly available operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions to move and recover capacity for customers
  • Interact directly with Data center technicians to support escalations for issue resolution
  • Work with systems engineers to push upstream fixes to enable capacity recovery
  • Deep dive defects throughout the rack migration process and develop solutions to mitigate them
  • Contribute to data analytics and evaluate data to uncover defects across product life cycles

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Experience scripting in modern program languages
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • 3 yrs of data center experience

Nice to Have:

  • Process improvement / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience of Linux troubleshooting for hardware related issues
  • Experience of training technical content to non-technical audiences
