About the Role

System Development Engineer II role at AWS focusing on building and maintaining scalable distributed systems for cloud computing services like RDS and Aurora. The engineer will work with US government customers, design and deploy software components, and ensure operational excellence in a secure environment requiring TS/SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy software components and features
• Focus on operational excellence by identifying problems and proposing solutions
• Work on automation, development, and operations to support AWS machine learning services
• Support US Intelligence Community and Defense agencies with cloud computing solutions
• Make improvements to team's development and testing processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology
