About the Role
The Training Solutions Research Scientist role at AWS Training & Certification focuses on applying scientific research and data analysis to improve learning and credentialing experiences. The position involves designing experiments, analyzing data, and translating insights into actionable recommendations for product development. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in how individuals and organizations learn cloud skills.Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct scalable research projects on learning and credentialing
- Analyze data using statistical methodologies to identify patterns and insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and success metrics
- Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Continuously evaluate emerging methodologies to improve research accuracy and efficiency
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Master's degree or above in a quantitative field
- 1+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Experience investigating feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems
- Experience with data analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience using SQL databases to manage and analyze large data sets
Nice to Have:
- PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent
- Experience applying forecasting and data mining techniques
- Knowledge of machine learning processing: computer vision, NLU, NLP or operations research
- Knowledge of statistics and probability
